A Better Tomorrow - Rights Deals Update
« on: September 21, 2010, 07:18:22 AM »
(2) The Korean adaptation of A Better Tomorrow (무적자 - pictured) has scored a number of sales deals in Asia, where the previous John Woo-directed film was a hit.

Pan-regional broadcaster STAR TV has bought pay-TV rights in HK/Macau, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, The Philippines, Indonesia and Brunei.

The film’s sales agent CJ Entertainment has struck deals covering all rights minus the pay-TV category with CMC for Taiwan and with Clover Films for Singapore and Malaysia. Fortune Star has rights in The Philippines, Indonesia and Brunei and will seek local distributors. The film’s investor Formula Entertainment holds Japanese rights and is arranging local distribution.

CJ is currently in negotiations for the outstanding rights in Hong Kong/Macau and Thailand.
